    Default Green River lake report

A couple buddies and I fished Green River this past Friday and Saturday. We probably caught 250 or so. When all was said and done we wound up with 102 keepers with the largest being 12.5". That front that moved in slowed the keeper bite down. We fished 14 hours a day also. All came on minnows tight lining. Going to take the wife down for her birthday on Oct. 11, 12, 13. If anyone has any info that they would like to share it would be greatly appreciated. We will be staying at Holmes Bend.

I don't guess you would give any info on how deep the water where you were fishing, and if the fish were suspending or holding to cover.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Great catch.

They were on cover in 20' of water. We fished 8 to 10' deep. I expect that with the cooler weather all that is going to change before we get to go back. We usually catch some this time of year on the flats.

I'm headed to Green on the 12th. Will be putting in at Holmes Bend, so I am sure I will have driven all the fish to your side of the lake by the time you get there bossman.
I just started crappie fishing this year and haven't had a good day yet. Crappiepappy sounds like you have been on Green a few times any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, I've been there a time or two ... but, for the most part it was many years ago & only in the Spring. I'm still a bit new to Fall fishing there, so I just follow the advice of those that frequent the lake often.
I already know that someone can tell you the exact spot where they slayed the fish, and when I get there ... they're nowhere to be found That's why I keep tabs on what the boys have to say, right here, and just sum up all I read ... then go & give'em a try.
It also doesn't hurt to hook up with, or just meet up with other members ... share info, learn new tips & tricks, & make new friends. I don't get to go often, so it's a good thing that I just like to fish, be out on the water & out of the house and away from work

Yep I understand..I teach school and we have Fall break starting today at 3:00..Im just happy to get away from here and get on the water whether I catch fish or not...I bought a houseboat and it is docked at emerald isle and ive not stayed my first night on it yet, so im excited even if the temps might dip a bit at night...thanks for the heads up...I look forward to giving it a shot...the guy i bought the houseboat from doesnt fish but he said they catch plenty of crappie right at the boat, so if nothign else ill drop a few lines and active minnows and try that...but im headed that way as soon as school lets out...
