    Default T-ville


    Made it to lake yesterday at 7am cool and cloudy water temp was 78
    didn't get a bite till 9am. Got six keepers out of standing trees in 20ft of water with minnows at 12-15 deep on outside bend of creek channel.Left at 2pm i thought i would do better with the cloudy weather. Water temp when i left was still 78 degrees .I'm going back thursday anyone have any ideas on what to try? (other than a diff lake)

    Arca54--sent a pm to you. Have not been back to T-ville since I saw you, I don't think. Last I heard is they were moving up in the creeks about 8' of water.

    Wish I could offer some advise but I haven't been on the lake in probably 6 weeks. Please post any results on T-ville, good or bad, as they are all better than not going at all. I hope to make it out out more in the next few weeks. Until then leave a few for me

    did a little better today than Tues.
    Water temp was 77 degree found fish in brush piles in the back of ashes creek.They were in 12ft of water about six ft down.Got 11 crappie and 2 cats not great but not terrible for T-ville.I think in next couple of weeks they will be alot better.

    Arca54--Something told me I should go today--Just didn't do it. Glad you finally hit em. I tried the river a couple more times with nothing to show. I'll be back to T-ville once the rain is over.

    how can you say "not great but not terrible for T-ville" .... when you nearly limited out :p
    Partner and I went to Cedar Creek, back last weekend, and caught 20-30 Black Crappie ... whose total meat mass would not equal your 11 :D
    We caught them on a 13ft to 18ft dropoff ledge, with submerged cedar trees. Most were caught at 6-8ft deep (over the tops of those trees).

    Hmmm ... 77deg water - 6ft deep in 12ft of water - 10 of 11 are Black Crappie Sounds like the thermocline is still in play. Lake below Winter Pool and falling : Louisville District Daily Lake Report .... sounds like we need some cool rain to get the Fall feeding jumpstarted.

    Keep after 'em Arca54 ... and keep up the reports !! Thanks, bro !!

    Went to Taylorsville today, fish from daylight to about 12:30. Didn't catch a crappie until about 9:00. Fish from 12' to 10' deep and then started catching about 8' deep.Ended up with 6 keepers and alot to small ones.Caught on minnows. Any one lead me to some good brush piles? CrappieWhere?

    I can't lead you to any good "brushpiles" .... but -

    If you're catching fish at 8' ....
    If you fished from daylight til 9AM without catching a fish ....
    And you were starting out at 10-12' deep ....

    MY advice, to you, would be to start at daylight, fishing the downed trees that stick out into >12 FOW
    If you're using minnows ... start at 4-6ft deep, over the outer ends of the tree top (past where the branches disappear from sight). Adjust your depth, down a little deeper as the day progresses.

    I'd use weedless jigheads and plastics, myself .... and cast to the trunk, where it enters the water, and swim the jig slowly across the length of the tree ... using multiple casts, where I'd allow the jig to run deeper on each succeeding cast, until I found the depth they were holding in.
    I'd also pick the blowdowns that were on banks where shade was created over those blowdowns, first ... and dedicate no more than 15-20mins of casting time, to each, before moving on to another one (IF I wasn't getting bites on that particular tree). I'd also put a few casts next to any standing timber that was relatively close to any of those blowdowns.

    IF you aren't set up to cast .... or prefer using minnows ... I defer you to Arca54 --- as that's more in line with his method of expertise
