I slammed my Minn Kota Maxxum trolling motor off solid concrete while on a Barkley trip recently. I knew the directional pointer wasn't working but while on KY Lake Sunday, the motor just didn't feel right. Monday I took the top off the T-M and found it full of steel balls from a ball bearing that was supposed to be 3 inches down the shaft from it's current location. I am smart enought to realize I was way over my head on this one and called Echo Electronics in Paducah. I had not used them for any work in YEARS and didn't know if they still worked on trolling motors. When I called I was told they were an authorized repair center for Minn Kota. I took the motor straight down to them and told them of what I had done and what I had found. They called me this morning, less than 24 hours after I had taken it to them, to tell me it was ready. When I picked it up I was shown the old parts they had replaced and paid the tab. It was just a little over $75. I was shocked but very pleased. As a business man I know that we don't do business for pats on the back or good karma but it is good to be able to say JOB WELL DONE!! I would have been pleased if the charges had been twice as much due to the professional way I was treated. Usually one AHHHHH $HIT will cancel out 100 atta boys but here's a big ATTA BOY anyway. Just want to tell those here that we still have some business that treat their customers the way they would like to be treated.
