Thanks for the updates fellas. I agree that the catfish may be the ticket for a while.

    Downwind,
How deep are you running bait under your jugs right now? I'm guessing 10 to 15 feet would be about right (thermocline usually 15 ft deep or so on T-ville). That's just a guess since I haven't set jugs this time of year before.

    SlippedCork,
Let me know when you are heading to T-ville. Depending on when the little one gets here I may be able to swing a trip to the lake before long.

    Take care,
    Greenfish

Heading out there today, any good spots for catfish using actual fishing poles and what bait? I heard a guy talking about how he was catching nice hybrids on shad.

It is SAD, but a fellow has to do----------
KYmdfisher? Did he happen to say where he was picking up the hybrids? Maybe around the hump? Going to Herrington Lake Wed.. I'm going to fish off a lighted dock and see what's biting. I hear it can be pretty productive for the hybrids and a lot of fun.

    Downwind,
I may have seen you with your jugs out a couple of weeks ago. I fish that general area for crappie from time to time and there was a boat manning a lot of noodles just past the no-ski buoys. I appreciate the info. You even answered my question I forgot to ask about bait.

On a side note, my wife got put on bed rest today. Baby (crumbsnatcher) might be here before long now

    Take care,
    Greenfish

    Cool Just some FYI ....

Taylorsville Hybrids were nearly wiped out from people using Chicken Liver as bait ... at least the "legal keeper sized ones" were (almost).

I have caught Hybrids on live Shad, fished on bottom in about 10-12ft of water. But, most of them have come on 1/4oz Silver Buddy's (trolling the "midlake hump area") and on Hot-N-Tots with a jig trailer. White Bass are willing biters on these baits, as well

Channel Cats (when I actually fished for them) can be caught on cut Shad, 6-8ft deep under float ... my place of choice is the first pocket on the bank across from the hump at the main lake junction split (where you turn right, coming from Settler's Trace Marina heading towards the dam). The pocket is on the bank to your left, after making the turn. I tied up to the standing trees in that pocket, and cast out towards the main lake about 20ft. I kept the Bluegill occupied with small scraps :p so the cats would have a chance to find the bait

Also caught Hybrids trolling that hump area, too.

Trolling for Hybrids/White Bass is what we would do from 11ish til 2ish ... after Crappie fishing from daylight til the Sun was over the water above the blowdowns (they just seemed to quit once the Sunshine was on the blowdowns). Hey ... it's pullage, even if it ain't T-ville Slabs :D

    ... cp
