Don't know about either of those lakes, but they shouldn't be any different than any other. A 6yo isn't going to care much about size, just numbers, unless he's fished alot (or is wise beyond his years :p ) That being said ... I'd say :

    (bait ... your choice)
    crickets
    nightcrawler pieces
    wax worms
    red wigglers

    (locations to consider)
    around boat docks
down the side of cliffs with good depth (> 15 FOW) and ledges
    underwater humps with stumps
    isolated large hardwood tree
main lake pockets with standing trees
(& pretty much anywhere close to the shoreline of steep banks)

    (equipment)
rod/reel to match his capability to use/control
small float (w/hook & sinker setup)

If you want to, and he can cast .... Roadrunners (marabou 1/32oz) or very small Rooster Tails (in-line spinner) --- (or you could troll with them)

Stay in the shade, if & when at all possible, and lather both of you up with a good sunscreen (SPF 45+)

    ... luck2ya ... cp

Default Good Bluegill fishing on Nolin

My son and I catch good numbers of good size Gills in Dog Creek, a good place to start is the bank on the right when you come into Dog Creek from the main lake, just fish the bank on the right all the way down to the bend, red worms or crickets will do the trick.

    Enjoy
