Hi all, I live in northern Kentucky on the bank of the Ohio river near Maysville. My home waters consist of the local river tributaries, of which there are several. Spend the money and buy Ohio papers and we have plenty of spots to fish. As far as lakes I've been to Weiss, Cave Run, Eastfork and plenty of smaller ones in this area. Sauger fishing below Meldahl Dam in the winter, and walleye fishing on lake Erie in the early summer. Work keeps me grounded in a lot of ways. Retirement is gonna be FUN!!!
thanks CP I didn't know it was here. must've been way back in the pages.Quote:

We (me and wife ) fish Green River Lake . Did pretty well this past season, even in the heat. Lost them for the late fall bite. (New depth finder may have that problem solved. Old "Fishin' Buddy" was about useless on the move. Couldn't keep it in the water - just barely at idle.) Pretty good size lake with lots to learn.
I live in Bowling Green, and the lakes I fish most are
Lake Malone
Old Hickory @ Drakes Creek Area in Hendersonville Tn.
Barren River Lake
Barren River (The River) at old boat ramp on Barren River Rd.
This year I plan on hitting Nolin Lake and Rough River Lake. If anyone has any helpful info on the last 2 feel free to pm me.
I live about seven miles from Ky lake,me and my 11 year old son fish tournaments so i like to fish any lake that i can catch crappie in, my favorate lake is Granada my son,s is Patoka .
I fish Lake Cumberland
Caught a walleye yesterday in Faubush Creek, so I assume they are comong up the lake. The crappie are slow for me. The wind and rain have absolutely churned the lake.
I fish Cunberland most of the time but also like Cedar Creek,Green River lake and Dale Hollow.
KY Lake - Crappie and the occasional Bass *** Crappie unless something hits me to catch some bass or when I simple have enough crappie in the freezer. Go there at three to four trips per year but plan on making it eight to ten times this year.
Rough River - Crappie *** Stayed away last year because of low water conditions but like the Northfork area.
Nolin Lake - Crappie *** Learned to crappie fish as a kid on this lake and plan to hit it a lot this year.
Taylorsville - Crappie and occasional Bass *** Fish this when I get off work early or if I am to busy to get to the other lakes.
Weiss Lake, AL - Crappie *** Have fished there for over 15 years now and go at least two to three times. Love KY Lake, but Weiss is the Crappie Capital.
Lake Erie - Small Mouth *** Annual trip where you can look like a pro catching bass.
Lake Cumberland - Stripers *** A once or twice a year trip when I have a desire to catch a monster.
George, here in Louisville.
T-ville mostly. Close for getting out for a 1/2 day and not spend a fortune pulling the boat.
Plan to get back to Nolin and Barren this year. If all works out, Maybe KY Lake in April/May. Been out of the Crappie biz too long.
It would be great to meet some of the Ky and So Indiana crappie aficionados, catch a few together and swap some stories.

I fish mainly Ky. & Barkley Lakes for Crappie. I also fish below Ky., Barkley, & Smithland dams for Sauger and Stripers.

you guys may already know this but you can call (606)783-7001 and get a recorded message of lake conditions at cave run. Its from the corps of engineers they update it most mornings around 6:00 . They arent reporting the water temp. or giving the fishing report just yet but they will in the spring. They still give the lake elevation and output from the dam. Hope this helps someone. Good luck on the water, Joe

Wife and I have been fishing on: KY. Lake-Blood River area for crappie, bass; Taylorsville Lake-Crappie; Cedar Creek Lake-Crappie & Bluegill; Green River Lake-Crappie; Herrington Lake-Bluegill, Bass; Elmer Davis Lake-Bluegill & Shellcracker. This was all in the past two years.
