    Default Ky Lake this weekend

I am planning to be sitting on Ky lake Thursday morning at daylight.Has anyone been the last couple of days to give a report? Looks like the water has warmed a little the last couple days and with the water being up thought some of the blacks might have moved up.Will probibally start at Blood but also fish Ledbetter and Johnathan some.Any info appreciated.

I would say to expect the lake to be extremely high and muddy enough to plant corn in. We are getting heavy rain right now and north of here there have been reports of as much as 10 inches so far with up to 5-6 more before it stops. All that water will keep the TVA from letting ANY water out of the lake so it could very well be way above pool by weeks end.

    Good luck anyway.

Ky dam is spilling right now. They are trying to hold alittle to help relieve the flooding south. They are going to continue to release water while they can. Pad. guage is around 40' and still rising. I checked the lake stages this morning and Ky lake has fallen a little dispite the rain. I've been catching blacks about 1 1/2' to 2' deep aruond stake bed and flooded buckbrush/willows. They may pull back off the banks with falling lake levels (forcast to fall real slow) but remain around that depth over deeper water. The whites I have been catching have been at 14' in 18' to 20' of water in the bays. The water has warmed some since this warm rain and I'm sure the west side will be muddy but the LBL side shouldn't be as bad. A few days of sun will REALLY warm this muddy water. I pray to god the blacks can hold off on their spawn until TVA starts holding the lake. If not we've lost a spawn.

    Good luck.

    Default high water

Thanks Wiskers for the good report. I'm "kind of" new to the forum, I've been reading it for years, but haven't posted much. Some friends and I are coming down next week, probably be there on Monday. Things are looking a little ify right now with the rain and such, but I guess we'll just have to move around and hunt for em' when we get there. I was hoping the weather would be like it was last year at this time, but you have to take the good with the bad, I guess. Again, thanks for the good reports. They are really appreciated. Oh, and if you're on the lake next week, we'll be in a Stratos 201 from Indiana. Stop by and say howdy.

The blacks have not spawned yet. Water temp. is the key factor, along with others. The spawn will be fine. They are not going to get up there and spawn out at one time anyway. They do it several times until they are finished.

    Default Central IN

    Bandit,

I live in central IN on the Ohio border around the Richmond area. Don't know too many people in the northern part of the state.
