Spawn is usually the last week of March or one of the first two weeks in April. Never as late as May.

Check with someone before you come down. Barkley has been so high and so muddy you may want to consider Kentucky Lake. Kentucky will be high but not as muddy. Both lakes are over summer pool and dropping. 354' is the norm for this time of year but as it stoold yesterday it was over 360'. Summer pool is only 359'. Good luck!

Already made reservations at Barkley lake SRP for April 6-11. Comin' down from Michigan w/ fiver pullin' a boat. If what you say about the level holds out, do you have any suggestions around that part of the lake. Boat is not big, so runnin' long distances is not favorable. If Kentucky is better, then I guess pulling the boat over there is gonna have to be the plan.

Kentucky isn't always better (just now.) If the weather changes then it might get better. The west side of the lake stays a little clearer but it one big bugger to cross in a small boat. I fish the northern end and think it is going to messed up for at least a couple of weeks with no more heavy rain. The difference in the two lakes are the land use around them. Barkley is more farming land with a lot of tilled soil and mud runoff. Kentucky is more forrested with clearer runoff. Watch the post on this board in the weeks to follow.

OK. Thanks for the advice. Will stay in touch and maybe try to get your number before coming down. Might be nice to look you up if that works out.
