If you're coming from the Lou. area, are you getting to Chowning by going thru the town of Taylorsville ?? If so, you could be at the Settlers Trace Marina ramp (main lake area) in about the same time, or less.

I was afraid that blowdown had probably started disappearing/rotting away ... I remember having better luck around it, too, some years ago, and not so much the last couple of times I was there.
