As far as jig fishing it's what I do 98% of the time for crappie. My fave combo is a 1/16 oz chartreuse jig head and a black or watermelon with chartreuse tail crappie slider (the original). I don't hook it weedless or anything I just use it straight up. You will catch fish on this rig. The key is just like if you are targeting any other species ... know your water!

itallushrt, thanks for the info on the jigs. I will look for some of those and give them a try.
I have kept up with the herd of elk in Ky. A guy over in Glasow that I know got a huge 6x6 a couple years ago on one of the hunts. A little different than out west, as he said it stood there and looked at him. A elk see's you out west, it will be long gone real quick.
