I don't really target the Bluegill & Shellcracker.Originally Posted by Biggerbear

Or, you could wait until the Full Moon, and look for beds. I'm sure they're in there, just as I'm sure there are keeper Crappie in there ... it's just luck'n up on the right place at the right time, or wading thru a ton of dinks to get a few gooduns.
The lake is full of trees, but most of the creeks have obvious paths thru them. The "main" lake is open water ... not too much to worry about, there, as far as stumps.
I doubt the "guide" saw my report :D ... in fact, I didn't even know there was any "guide" working CCL :p The lake is not that big, so a "show me around" guide probably isn't really necessary. You should be able to find most of the structures put in by the KDFWR, with just a map. Other than that, just look for the same types of situations that you'd look for in any other lake ... and give it a try.
Just be sure and take twice as much "bait" as you think you'd need'cause I'm pretty sure that, no matter where you fish, you're going to feed the dinks before you start catching many eaters. And don't even bother to take minnows (store bought), the little Crappie/Bass/Sunfish will clean you out PDQ !!
