I’ve used a 7’ Rapala ultra-light rod and Shimano medium light rear drag reel for years. I don’t think Rapala rods are marketed in the US. I bought mine off Sportsman’s Guide years ago. Guess they bought a close-out. Wish I had a dozen of them. I also have an ultra light St.Croix 6.5 foot rod that works great.
The 6-9’ Southern Crappie Rods work great too. Love cork handles!
