I crappie fished it a few years ago and did pretty good. I don't know if there is a name for how I did it but all I did was took one of my 14' poles I use for trolling and added a minnow with a bobber a few feet above it. I slow trolled down the bank and just dropped inthe minnow for a few seconds. As I moved past I would lift the pole tip and move it down about five feet. I moved very slow and caught quite a few crappie right on the bank. However, I hooked a huge bass, somewhere I would guess in the 5 lb range doing this also. I never thought in a million years it would break my line with such a long pole the had so much give, but it snapped before I got it in the boat. It was one heck of a good time. I need to take my son out to practice casting because we have our big trip to Lake Erie smallmouth fishing in a few more months and Guist Creek sounds like a good place to practice.
