I see you're another T-ville angler that's finding the big girls. CongratsI haven't been that lucky, yet, or else I haven't been fishing in the right areas

I see the lake has gone up a couple more feet after the recent rains. (6.22ft over Pool @ 9PM today)
Are they staying at the same depths as before (4-6ft below surface) in spite of the extra water depth, or have they stayed at their previous depths (& are now 6-8ft below the surface). Or are you catching them down in the 10-15ft depths, like some of the other members that Spider Rig or Push/Pull jigs ??
Hey Pappy, i was catching them pretty shallow the other day. Not sure how the recent rains will have an impact, but i can message you later tonight and let you know what i find today if you'd like

Yes, I'd appreciate that. Thanks !!
With the lake 6.5' over Pool, I doubt they'll keep the outflow low for long. and with the upcoming high 70's weather the water temps should jump back into the 60+ deg range. I'm just hoping the fish will hold off any major rush to the banks while the water is being dropped back to Pool. I know there's been several times in years past that some beds were left high/dry, and the whole shebang was rudely interrupted when high water levels were dropped during peak spawning periods.
And I'd guess the lake will again be "junky" with all the shoreline deadwood that had accumulated from the previous water level drop. So, be careful & be safe when you go !!
Water is up about 6 ft made it a challenge to launch this morning but overall did fairly well considering how muddy the water is

Thanks for the report, JL .... I kinda figured that would be the case (scattered fish, temps back into the 50's, lots of floating debris). The lake is falling, but very slowly (just barely under 7' over pool as of 415PM today)
I see you found one of those Saugeye, too !! Congrats !! We got one last trip, and while talking to a guy on the bank I got a 8 incheron my Road Runner. He was fishing minners under a float about a foot or so & said he had 13 Crappie & a 16" Saugeye, and had thrown back a handful of undersized Saugeye. He was on the roadbed that goes into the water at the pocket to the right of the Settlers launch ramp when we talked to him, but I don't know if that's where he caught his fish.
Saw on the Ky Afield Fishing Call-in show where they talked about stocking Saugeye in T-ville, and how they're a fast growing fish and seem to be doing well in the lake. Who knows, maybe one of us will catch the next state record from there in a couple of years. Current state record is 6.5lbs out of the Ohio River from back in 1998. With the huge Shad base T-ville has, the Saugeye should have the feed bag on all year long. Pretty tasty fish, too !! (I ate the one my partner caught last trip)
piease let us all know
Great catch! Been a great year at Taylorsville for sure!
