Only get to the lake a few times a year due to work. Spent the weekend spider rigging the flats and another close area that a kind local turned me on to. Fish moved a bit deeper Sunday, my wife and I caught them on jigs tipped with minnows and had good action both days.
No need to tell you color as they hit most everything, and depth is obvious...
just find the shad.

I was there Friday ... pushing cranks & jigs. Everything I caught came on jigs in 20fow & right close to the bottom. Didn't really find any concentration of fish until 3PM ... and a feller I talked to had already cleaned that area out of keepers(said he had 25 keepers).
I did run into one humongous school of Shad ... 20fow and the school was 10' deep and over 20' long. Filled up my entire screen and went on off screen before the whole school was passed over.The crazy part was that the "cloud" going across the screen stopped abruptly, like a vertical wall, and there were about 8-10 fish just past that wall. I wanted to take a screen shot, but in my excitement I plum forgot which buttons to push to get a screen shot
Old Timers Disease got me, once again. I didn't get a strike from any of those fish, either !!

You done good. I fished GRL Saturday pushing cranks and all I could find was short fish. I had 30 shorts by 8:30 then I went look for some bigger fish and never found them.
