I'd say that's fairly promising. I've never caught a crappie approaching 11" there. Maybe they have grown. They did stock Saugeye there about 2 years back. Boltz, AJ Jolly, Bullock Pen - I believe they all were stocked with Saugeye. They are probably harvestable by now.

Just now getting around to posting. We fished it Sunday. The fishing forecast from KDFWR is spot on. We caught plenty. Most in the 8-10" range. We kept 26 and threw back that many. We used jigs tipped with minnows. Seemed to like blue/black with chartreuse tail. Oh and my buddy did catch one saugeye 14" long.

KyBruce, I now realize I saw you there. I was the guy on the dock. I had some poles out with wax worms(caught 2 very little bream), but spent most my time casting a jig ( for over 2 hours, but it was a nice day). Had a lot of problems with lines broken off from the dock getting tangled in my jig. But, when I have time, will get back up there with my boat and try to figure out the depth/area I need to fish. Will need a couple trips to figure this out at least. Glad you and you partner had a good day. The larger 1 crappie I caught was pretty skinny. The smaller one looked a lot better. Both the crappie and saugeye are back in the lake.

Perchjerker108, I wish I had known it was you. You asked how deep I thought I'd have to fish. Would like to have talked more. Anyway, they were in 18-20 foot of water 12-15 feet deep. We did best back near the campground. I noticed they are skinny fish. I think that's from over population. At least that's what I've been told. We'll probably go back sometime as we had fun catching. Maybe we'll see you then.
