    Default Lowrance Guys

I have an HDI transducer mounted on my trolling motor and I absolutely love it. But my HDS 9 Touch has a thru hull transducer for my sonar on the console. The HDI sonar up front looks amazing while my console sonar is just ok. I bought a new 83/200 transducer and I want to mount it in the water on my transom so my console sonar looks as good as my front sonar. Can any of you guys show me pics of your setups so I can get an idea of a mounting location? I want to do this right the first time and need some opinions. I have a 97 Ranger 541V Commanche. It kinda has a reverse angle on the transom so I'm limited on my mounting options.

    Thanks in advance.

Keep it in the hull. You won't gain anything on 2D sonar going to the transom and you risk transom damage and will probably lose sonar at speed if you do.

I can see a crappie jig 25ft down and distinguish the minnows and sinkers on a Kentucky rig with my sonar in the hull.

It's not hard to get to, it's just epoxied to the boat hull. It wld take a jackhammer to get it off. I just think that my returns wld be a lot better if the transducer is actually in the water like my HDI up front.
