My mechanic explained it like this: The carbs on the Fast Strike engines are mounted directly on the engine block. In hot weather when u shut the engine off the heat from the block seperates the ethanol from the gas in the bowls. When u try to start the motor up to move to your next spot, the motor burns the gas off the top then gets to the pure ethanol in the carbs. It won't run on pure ethanol so the motor bogs down and u have to pump the bulb to get fresh non-seperated gas to the carbs from the cooler fuel tank. This cycle starts over every time you shut the motor off. U talk about a real pain when u are in a hurry!!!

I have run non-ethanol gas from around Ky Lake in my motor in really hot weather and have not had a problem at all. That tells me my mechanic knows what he is talking about. Don't get me wrong, I love my 150 Fast Strike. It is a BEAST! I just wanted to get some locations close I cld get the right fuel. Thanks guys for all the info!
