Personally, now knowing that the Shad are there and no reasonable way to remove them ... I'd like to see the KDFWR remove that restriction. Seems pointless to keep it, seeing as how their efforts to eradicate them failed (from day one) and they have re-established themselves as the primary food source for most of the stocked fish in the lake.

Yea I know...........I don't keep them in the boat I just net one when I need it. If they want to come harass me over a shad that's already in the lake at 2:00 am in the morning then I guess I had it coming,. I don't use them until my 100 minnows are gone ..............I mean what im trying to say is I never knew Cedar Creek had shad ? Its minnows Im dippin ...........

This was a screen just before we picked up 100 white perch in less than 90 minutes. We didn't keep anything below 3/4 a pound. We had over twenty over 2.5 poundsName: ImageUploadedByTapatalk1437834039.559447.jpg

I mostly fish Barren and what little night fishing I do anymore is always under a bridge. It hasn't always been as we had tried brush as well as in-take water towers that always seemed to attract more night time fisherman than it did fish. We started fishing bridge pilings with a little more success than the other spots and yes your still gonna have those nights that are stinkers, its called fishing. We tie something that floats, marker buoy, to a line and motor around the piling till you catch up with your float. before tying off, put two or three fenders between your boat and the piling. We use white lights as well as the green tubes and try to stagger the hooks till we can hone in on their feeding zone. Not exactly sure why the pilings out produce the other areas we fish during the day but the one thing the bridge has that the others don't is current. On Barren it always seemed to me that the days that the Corps is pulling the lake down were the days we did well and the harder they pulled it the better.
Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer!
