    Default Cranks today on Kentucky

I decided to give it a try this morning, despite all the bad reports. I started around 8:00 and had my first crappie in less than 30 seconds. Little did I know that was to be my only crappie. I proceeded to set all know records for drum today, at one point I had a triple going with three drum on at the same time. I don't know what the final total was, but I quit because I was tired of catching them. I did catch three nice bass between all the drum. I still had an enjoyable day and the umbrella made it quite comfortable.

I'm glad it's not just us that it happens to. But I swear every time we hit a crappie right away it's always a sub par day.

Rickie, I will get you a picture tomorrow if I don't forget. The holder I use, came from Gene on the Mississippi board.

Don't you know you are supposed to have sweat running down your butt-crack to catch crappie on cranks? The umbrella jinxed you.

Tim(Quackrstackr) and I had a decent day yesterday on cranks but the crappie were not where we expected them to be. We also caught far more dinks than we ever have on cranks. We had to use every color in the boat until we hit on what they wanted.

I can see me trying to get my 16 foot trolling rods around an umbrella . I have seen the time I was envious of those folks on their pontoons who had shade over them. Guess I just get more set in my ways and stubborn as I get older. I can't get all my crap in my garage now. Ask Rickie.

It's not as difficult as you might think. I set my umbrella as high as I can get it and I can swing it out of my way also. Gene (E-Z poleholder) came up with a nice design on his holders.
