Default Got my limit of ten.

This morning my buddy and I went out on Barren and went back to spider rigging for crappie......trying to fish weekends is bitter sweet. The only thing better than fishing, is fishing with your best friend, how many fish you catch is irrelevant. As the sun rose this morning we boated 5 throw backs for every keeper, but as the day progressed and more boaters and jet-kiers appeared I just couldn't stop my rod tips from bouncing. At one point a bass boat passed within 20 feet of me going wide open. If your in a hurry, try NASCAR, not fishing. Not all bass fisherman are this way but the weekend seems to bring out the worst in people. We packed up and headed for an area that has a channel and flats along with a head water so the joy riders were few. As we fished the edge of the channel, a bass boat with two fellas working lizards worked their way down the bank. When they got within shouting distance, the trolling motor operator yelled....Hey, your slabseeker1. I'd recognize that rod storage rack anywhere. OK not all bass fishermen are evil, just the ones that don't stroke my ego. Turns out he was from Louisville and pops in on us once in awhile. Like I said, got my 10. That's all this ole man wants to clean.

Proves the point, 10% of fishermen, create 90% of the problems. There are a great group of crappie and bass fishermen. (90%) To bad the 10% are a pain in the A%^.

Thinking about hitting up Barren next Friday night. Best friend and I went to nolin last night about 10 pm and dropped some lights. Then we realized we left the minnows in the truck lmbo. We boated 24 keepers from 11-3 and that's all we really wanted as well. Great night last night, never saw one boat

Don't mean ta stick my nose in but on Barren, we fish the bridge pilings. The lights either float or the green ones we have are a foot or two deep. We then fish varying depths 8-12' and let them tell us where they want the bait.

We were fishing in a new spot to us. Between 15-17 ft with the crappie schooled in the 10-12 ft range according to my finder. I was using a slip bobber between 6-8 ft at most times. Oh and the lights were just below the surface
