    Default boltz

does anyone here drive past boltz lake, i dry ridge, on a daily basis? i am looking for somewhere to take the kids fishing this weekend and thought i would give that a shot. i would like to go to the creeks, but it is tough to move around and fish with a 4 and 6 year old, thinking maybe i could find some laydowns and tie up. not to mention i would imagine the creeks are still pretty high.

Don't know as this will be of any help, but : from another website, a Bass angler reported the lake was clear & 44-46deg water temps on 3/30/14.

If it was me ... I'd probably troll Roadrunners (1/16oz marabou), starting at the launch ramp and going along the rip rap bank next to it, and then on up into the creek arm in front of me. Not enough RR's ... put on a 1/32oz marabou jig & a small splitshot sinker about 8" up the line, and troll that. I'm sure the Bluegill will keep the kids entertained, and you may possibly hookup with a Crappie or Bass in the process.

It does have a 10hp limit ... but boats with larger motors can use their trolling motors to get around.

    ... cp

I would try AJ Jolly lake in Campbell Co. It has access just about all around the lake. Easy to get to the water and there are some nice crappie and bass in the lake. The bluegill run small but there are lots of them and channel cat too.

Ended up going to gunpowder today, Trixie's marina is closed but the ramp is open and covered in mud, had a little trouble launching the boat. Creek is up 2-3 feet and still milky, caught lots of small fish and only one keeper, the wind gusts were killer but the water was 60 degrees if we don't get any more rain this week, next weekend should be good
