    Default Lost my fishing hole

Last Monday I fished a private lake for the last time. The owner has sold the property.
We always did real well there and I am going to miss it. Below is the four crappie that we took Monday.
The orange stick in the top of the photo is a 12" ruler.

They came on crank and spinner baits while fishing for bass.

If you need/want a partner to fish during the week let me know. I have never done any crappie fishing in the "big" lakes other than Buckhorn bay but would love to learn. I have a 1648 Jon set up for ponds.

Nice catch. You have the beginning of a decent Ky or Barkley lakes boat with a 1648. If you fish Buckhorn, you have the start to get into some good fish at times. Buy a good bow mount trolling motor, a GPS/Locator ( I have a good one for sale) and some rod holders and read up on longlining and spider rigging here on the forums. A search of the forums will get you more than you will want to read in a weekend. The secret to fishing KY Lake with a smaller boat is to trailer it to one of the many ramps close to where you want to fish. I know the ramp at Buckhorn park can get hairy in low water.

Sorry for your loss. Maybe you can get in good with the new owner.

Tell him that a well fished lake is a heathy lake, and you are glad to help in anyway you can.

My son and I help a few local farmers manage thier ponds. We always offer to help out around the farm.

Most of the time we end up with fresh produce to take home.
Wishing you Blue Skies and Tight Lines
