So i just wanted to thank everone for the prayers, they worked. After a 9 hour surgery he is finally out, and recovery can begin. He still has a long road ahead of him but he is a fighter for sure...

yea, that is one of the things that keeps him going, he said wed. night "i cant wait to get this over with cause i want to go crappie fishing" on a side note i talked to my mother earlier and she said the took him off the meds that were keeping him knocked out overnight and he was now sitting in a chair tring to communicate, since he still cant talk, but i was surprised to hear that. As the Alabama song goes "i believe there are angels among us" maybe not in the sense of "invisible people" looking over us, but more like the doctors that spend the time and money to be able to help people. I have to give a shout out to one of my dads surgeons, Doctor Keith Wilson. He is the chief of staff at Cincinnati University Medical Center, i hope that no one here ever needs his services, but he is an awesome doctor.

ok, so this will probably be my last update on this, today marks 1 week he has been in the icu and after a brief scare with "ICU Delirium" the doctors came in today and switched his trach to a smaller one that should allow him to start being able to talk again, they removed him from some of his monitors and he was able to get up and walk down the hall and back. If everything goes as planned he will be transferred to a rehab facility tomorrow. Thanks again for all the prayers.
