Might have to make a trip if someone has any recommendations from those two retailers. Thanks for all the emails about suggestions too!
I like my 12 ft Bass Pro Tightline specials. I just bought two 14ft rods to go with them. That gives me 6 rods up front to spider rig. I plan on using the 14 footers in the middle above the TM. I use Mitchell Avanti reels that I bought from Walmart with all of them.

I have six Crappie Maxx from Bass Pro that are 12 ft long I use when I fish brush.

I just started crappie fishing last year, the more experienced folks may use different stuff from me. Like you, just learning and loving all the time I get to spend on the water.

I use Marshal Tightline specials. Have had good luck with them. Only one broken tip because of my wife. I DID keep my mouth shut though. I just keep getting smarter with age.
I think the mistake a lot of us make is thinking the state-appointed shrink is our friend.

Is that the same as Crappie Maxx Tightline specials now?

When I bought them they were Wally Marshal branded. I did get them from Bass Pro.

Well, all the gift cards are spent, lol. I went with the following:

    2 - 12ft Crappie Maxx Tightline special
    1 - 14ft Crappie Maxx Tightline special
    2 - 14ft Ozark Pro Series Trolling
    1 - 16ft Ozark Pro Series Trolling

Thanks to all for your help and input!

and now the tweeking will start! After a season or so, a reel or maybe someone will have a rod that will catch your eye and you'll make a change here and there. Atleast that's how it happened for me. Now i'm down to four rods and those are enough to keep me as happy and as busy as I care to be. As I scour the edges of the channels seeking for that next thump that we all dream of just before we fall asleep the night before the next fishing trip, I lay there thinking of all those things that are left undone till the morning. Did I plug the charger in, is my thermos clean, did I put the rod holder in the car the last time out, will they still be on that same stump line tomorow? Denney if you stick with it long enough you'll have many other demons that will keep you awake other than "which rods do I get". May you find as much joy in the catch and all the friends you will make thru the years as I have. Enjoy!
