    Default Fixin to retire

March 1st will mark my official first day of my retirement and i'm sending out a warning to the crappie of Kentucky. Be afraid,be very afraid. You should fear me as much as the NRA fears Dianne Feinstein! Enough retoric.

By the first week of March, it should be on the brink of the buffet feast for crappie at Ky Lake and i'd like to take advantage of every jig thumpin, minner suckin crappie that's willing to make me smile. I've heard alot about Blood River area and would like to get some feedback to see if that area is worthy of my first attempt on Ky Lake. I have my own boat and would like to take it and would like to stay a day or so. Now for the local knowledge, are there any motels with a resturant close to a boat ramp? If possible post a link or atleast give me something I can google or mapquest so I can call them for rates and plug into my GPS as I live in Bowling Green. Up until now my employers have always selected those precious few days I could fish......now that'll be my wife's job.
Any light you can give will be appreciated.

I have less time than I did before.......I hear. Dad can you, dad are you busy, and then after I spend a week working on a honey do job.....my wife will say I can,t believe you didn't fish this week.....lol. A man should retire first and then work later..........

You need to give yourself a minimum of 30 days to acclimate to retirement. Until you do, stay calm..........and breath deeply. You retire only
    once in your lifetime. Enjoy!

Congrats on the retirement, I'm goint to try to retire in 6 years, I'll be 58. I got a glimpse of it when I was off work with shoulder surgery, lots of aches and pains but I did fish a lot too.

Congratulations on retirement but don't catch me all, cause I will be joining the retirement squad in 36 months. I wish I could supply some helpful info on the Blood River area, but never been there, but if you
decide to come a little further south to the Paris Landing area give me a shout. Enjoy Retirement!!!

Congratulation. Go to kylake.com they have a list of hotels. We usually stay at Irvin cobb resort in blood river and rent a cabin. no restaurant there though. But murray and arrora aren't to far away and they have hotel and restaurants.
The only thing better than a day of fishing. Is a week of fishing.

Congrats on retirement! I retired January 10 of this year and these last 2 weeks have been great. Just wish I could get on the lake.
