Hey Slab! Congratulations on your retirement! I took the leap last February and haven't looked back! I would recommend you start your Kentucky Lake adventure in the Aurora, Kentucky area. There are a couple of motels there as well as several really good restaurants. Fin and Feather Lodge Fin N' Feather Lodge is one choice for affordable accomodations as well as Ken Lake State Park Lodge. There are other lodge/motel choices in Aurora that can be found on Google. In any case, if you stay in Aurora, you will be close to ramps and restaurants. You will be 12 miles or so from Blood River.

I hope this gets you started. Again, CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Congrats on the retirement . Make the best of it!

This may help some also. www.explorekentuckylake.com/lakesarea/accommodations/cabins.htm

I also suggest Aurora, Ky area. It puts you kinda in the middle of the lake. You can go north or south, take the us 80 bridge across the lake. Grocery store, laundry matt, resturaunts and bait store right there.

    Good Luck !

Weather will be perfect 68* & sun all day , My wife told me this afternoon that I would need to pick-up my perfect grandson at school at 2:15 PM on the 29th. witch is 42.8 miles from the lake boat landing she had something planed. So you know that a 7 yr. grandson comes first sinces he is my best buddy. Don't you just love them!

The only thing better than taking the grandkids fishing is having one say "Paw paw, don't start the big motor, I want to stay a fish!"
Everything is possible. The impossible just takes longer!
