Default Where to stay on Ky Lake

    Hello to all!

Heading to Ky Lake the last weekend in March and staying through April 2. My question is where would you stay if the choice was between Mansard Island Resort or Buchanans? Trying to pick one and seeking advice. Mansard may be closer to better grounds this time of year (weather dependent) but again I am open to any suggestions. I have never been to this area as we normally go to Blood. Thanks.
That's why they call it Fishing and not Catching!

IMO I would stay at Fishtail Lodge which is near Paris Landing Sate Park, just up the lake a short piece from Mansard Island. Reason being you will be close to all the comforts needed, ie fuel, bait, restaurants, fish cleaning stations , ramps all within 1/2 mile. Fuel stations right across the street with non ethanol and have a cafe that serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Paris Landing has a great boat ramp and fish cleaning station within 1/2 mile of Fishtail lodge. FORDs a small store just a couple hundred yards from the lodge sell minnow 3doz for $1.00. Fishtail Lodge is clean and comfortable with boat charging right at your room door. Mansard Island and Big Sandy just a 5 to 7 min boat ride. everything you may need just nearby without having to drive an hour away.

I second the FISHTAIL LODGE!! We have been staying there for the last three years. Sharon and David are the nicest people. They cater to the fisherman. They have different size cabins and motel rooms. You can back your boat right up to your door and plug in your batteries so you do not have to unhook your boat.

We have a friends that rent they're lake house. It's about 300 yds from the Antioch boat ramp.. Antioch is right across the bay from Mansard... It's a 3 bedroom house and I think they get $175 / night. IM me if you'd like they're contact info.
