I need some help deciding on a new electronics unit for my boat. I went to the boat show yesterday and talked to the guys at one of the workshops. Now I would like input from the guys and gals on the board.

I fish Green River Lake for mostly crappie. During hot summer time, I like to throw out noodles for catfish.

I have a 175 Bass Tracker that I've set up for spider rigging. I fish the brush piles and other structure that I can find with my 565 Hummingbird I have up front with a transducer on my trolling motor. The boat came with a Lowrance X-4 on the console.

My question is whether to purchase a DI or SI unit? The folks at the boat show said to go with DI because of fishing crappie and looking down. My friend who bass fishes tournaments tells me SI.

What do you folks use or think? I know I want HD and GPS. I could spend around $1200 or so.
