Default No side or down image

I have a 798 SI that is about 3 yrs old. I don't have any side image on the right and the left doesn't look good, no down image. The image in simulator mode looks fine. Anybody have any ideas?
Called HB customer service, she pretty much told me there wasn't much I could do to tell wether it was bad unit or xducer except try it on another boat with same ducer or send it in. $200 if bad unit, $65 if nothing wrong or buy new ducer with no return if package is broken.
I took some pics but they didn't turn out. Didn't think about making a recording. Still looking for some one with a 798 in area.

ricky ... Pm me your location in w Ky.... And a phone number...

I can let you borrow my spare HXS 9 HDSI 180T xducer..

You will not be able to use the 800kHz.. But the 455 will tell you if the problem is your xducer or your head unit...

You may have a corroded transducer plug.

Maybe, the sockets on the unit look real clean. I think the Croppie Man (Jim) has the same unit but his phone must be off. I only have his cell. Thought I might catch him on the water.

I just sold my 798 with a brand new spare transducer.

Does it work in simulator mode? If it does I'd say you have a bad transducer or pinched a wire.

Yea I here you. The more I see the down images on the Lowrance the worse mine looks but since I don't have your money I'll have to fix this one.

Works in simulator mode. HB Greg and another good trusting soul gave me some ways to test the problem. rnvinc loaned me a transducer to test the control head. Then when I got home I HB Greg posted on another forum how I could use my 788 to test transducer after changing some settings. This is something that the lady at customer support didn't know how do do. It is good to have the people @ HB watching these forums

    Thanks all

Now both sides are not working. I will try to post a pic.
Someone on this forum had a spare transducer and loaned it to me to try ( XHS-9-HDSI-180-T). looks like the ducer on my boat isn't working right. I was able to get the SI images with the spare transducer on a stick. I can't see anything wrong with my pins on the ducer and I tried wiggling them. The more I read about this the more I see about bent and loose pins/sockets..... makes me wonder.

I use dielectric grease on my connections. No corrosion.
