Hey guys I'm going to attempt spider rigging for the first time this year and wondering if you guys could clear up a few questions I had on the setup. I have everything I need rod holders, long rods, as I usually longline troll in Alabama every spring. I'm just new at the spider rig setup and theres not any good videos showing how people actually set up on you tube. It seems to me that if I have the rods in the holders out in front of the boat and move around using the trolling motor the baits and line would just come right back or to the sides of the boat? How fast do people typically move while spider rigging? Do you use weight to keep the bait down? How heavy? How close to the water do you keep your rod tips? How do you rig your bait with the weight? Weight on the bottom with jigs or minnows above? I know there are several variations, just wanting some input on whats been successful for you guys. I know it's a lot of questions but I know this is the place to get answers from experienced crappie fisherman! Thanks
