Didn't read the article, but out of 50 something we kept last week there might have been 5 blacks in the bunch. Think they're may be a year class of whites missing, but from what I've seen there's still quite a few whites.JMO, I don't know much.

I was watching Ky Afeild this past weekend and they gave a report on Ky Lake and a fish bio guy said the the whites were down some in population, but the blacks were well populated. I had heard the there was a article post on here on the main page...something about the whites had missed a spawn last yr or didnt spawn like they should had ??? I looked for it but never could find it, and after hearing that on KY Afeild, just wondering if they might be messed up a little !!
My boat maybe old, but shes still... FAST !!

2018 Crappie Masters Kentucky/Tennessee State Champion
During the KDFWR fishing call-in show that aired recently .... question was raised about the Crappie at KY/Barkley. The biologist said that there were increased numbers of Black Crappie, of 9" size range, and that the White Crappie had two good spawns over the last couple of years. (something to that effect) My interpretation of his "answer" was that the overall conditions of the lakes is still more conducive to the Black Crappie's liking, but that the White Crappie are still spawning & increasing their numbers. The White Crappie "good spawns" will take a couple of years to grow into viable spawners, themselves, but at least they're on the upswing.
