I'm headed down Friday night. Have been looking at the map for protected bays depending on wind direction. I can buy minnows here for $15 a pound. Is there a good place to get minnows around Moors resort?

The winds this spring have been ridiculous! I've given up on trying to plan a trip when they are slack. We're going to fish tomorrow and Thursday and hope for the best. If nothing else just have a good time being on the water.
I hear ya buddy. A man better have a real good TM & fresh batteries to fish the stuff we been get'n. You may be ok pull'n in some shallower water.Back in the backs the water's warm'n up pretty good. Keep us posted on how yall do.

I got the spring break thing going on too. 1 Nephew & 2 great nephews decending on me today for Man Camp. Gonna be tuff try'n to entertaine 3 teens in 20 to 30 mph wind.

    Yall come see us.

Thanks Wiskers. I like having some kind of back up plan. I hope a few more fish are moving up shallow by Saturday.

Many of the black males we had had just come out of deep water. White as cotton till the sun hit them fo awhile.
Niceeeeeee!!!!!!!!! Think I better head back down! How warm is the water now?

A little over 58 was as warm as I saw yesterday, like Wiskers said back in a bay a pretty good ways. We had 35 yesterday on a similar pattern to Wiskers, been up there for a better part of a week and haven't heard of anyone or seen anyone catching them in close to banks.

are you just finding structure in that deep water and vertical jigging it?? Thanks everybody for the great info and for the pm's. I was down in febuary about 5 years ago and the stake beds that I seen were all out of water because of winter pool. Is that the way it is now or is the water up??? If I put in @ irwin cobb ramp on the blood river can I just go out towards the lake and fish the mouths of the coves there or should I be out in the river?? Just don't know how deep the water is in those spots. I am just trying to get all the info I can so I can get my dad on some fish, it is his birthday and i want to make it a memerable expierence.
