    Default Green River/Lake Cumberland

Going fishing this weekend and am trying to decide where to go. I have been hearing the bite on Green River has been great, but am concerned about the rain making it too muddy there.

Anybody got any news on these two bodies of water or a tip or two. I'm not a proficient fisherman, a couple of ideas on where the fish are holding would make my day.

    Thanks!

OK, going to Green River Lake. Any help is appreciated fellas. Will they be in the flats or in deeper coves on standing timber?

Went out and ran my boat a little yesterday and talked to a guy that had seventeen, he didn't say where he caught them at but seen some guys fishing in shallower water. Lake had a stained look to it and would say with all this rain its going to be muddy..hope that helps some

I think after this rain, the lake will be pretty muddy. If you are still going, I'd try to do some drift fishing using minnows or jigs..

I normally fish Green, but haven't been there since it warmed up. Been fishing Nolin and the fish there have been as shallow as 4 to 6 feet. By last Sunday water temp had gotten up to 50
    Louisville District Daily Lake Report
Watch this website, Green was 0.4 feet over winter pool yesterday. It doesn't muddy as bad as the other lakes here but with all the rain it is going to get some color and rise. Robinson Creek area and around the dam will muddy up last.
    Good luck

Thanks for the help fellas. I plan on giving it a try regardless. I'm just looking for an early catch or two....sure beats sitting in the house and it's way too wet for golf!

Do you think I should try to fish in muddier water or water with less color? I've always heard that murky water holds heat longer and will hold more fish in the winter/late winter. Thoughts on that idea guys?

Cuzzin, where did you see those fellas at? In the big flats north of Holmes Bend?

    CrappieHoppie,

What area did you fish? I fished Sat. on the main lake around Ramp 1 area. Fish were scattered and mostly holding 12 to 15 feet deep in the front of the bays.
Did you see any muddy water ?
