    CrappieHoppie,

What area did you fish? I fished Sat. on the main lake around Ramp 1 area. Fish were scattered and mostly holding 12 to 15 feet deep in the front of the bays.
Did you see any muddy water ?

I put in at Holmes and worked my way up lake, fishing various depths in and around coves and even went out into the flats for a while. Just couldn't seem to find any fish. Didn't fish horribly long either, the wind picked up and I had to get back to watch UK whip up on Florida.

    Coalyn, how did you fare?

Fished about 4 hrs. and had 14 keepers (I think) and several short fish. Not sure on the keepers cause I only kept 6 to eat.
Casting 1/16 and 1/8 jigs and twitching them back to the boat REAL slow.
Tried some brush piles and caught a couple but mostly they seem to be scattered on the secondary creek breaks close to the main lake.
Did you happen to see a blue/grey Skeeter with 2 kids and a tall ugly guy ? That would be me.

i went to green yesterday and was able to catch about 10 fish but none were 9". I fished tubes injected with nibbles from my baitpump past the kids camp by the lone valley area. I also fished Robinson Creek area with no luck... Is the other end of the lake better..like the Holmes bend area? I've only been to green river lake fishing 3 or 4 times as i jut bought my first boat a month or two ago. I'm also pretty new to crappie fishing on larger bodies of water and im lost out there.

Foxtrot, everyone will differ on this, but my opinion the other end of the lake is much better. For several years I only fished the Robinson Creek fork of the lake and knew it pretty well. Then last year started fishing only between Holmes Bend and Ramp 1 and I am doing a lot better.
I even went back to the R.C. fork a couple times last year thinking I just know better how to catch them now, and same results, not much luck.
    Again just my opinion

Exactly right. Water seems to be a bit too cool right now and once they warm up a few degress the crappie bite will get much better. I find the BEST part of the lake when the bite is on is the big flats north of Holmes Bend on the left. If you don't know where it is, just follow the path of the boats during the spring/summer!
