Quacker .... if your seat receiver is around 5" back from your pedestal hole, when you're sitting in it & fishing ... you might consider looking at one of these : Springfield Marine Kingpin Offset Removable Pedestal Posts

It might afford you a little more piece of mind, knowing that your seat is anchored to your boat, at all times (fishing, running, waves/choppy water conditions, etc)

I'm assuming that your pics are simply for demonstration ... and the seat isn't placed in the position it will be when you're actually using it/fishing from it. Those back legs look precariously perched very close to the edge of the deck drop .... wouldn't take much of a skootch to send you (both), seat & all, backwards into the floor Doh

I use one of those offset pedestal posts, when fishing out of my partners Tracker TX17. It allows me 5" more leg room, to operate the TM pedal while seated (I'm 6' 1" & the boat seems to have been made for a 5' 6" feller :p )
