Yesterday my graph was showing 38 degrees and i figure they have moved down 25 to 30 feet or more. I know a few years ago i was on Big Sandy and the water was this cold and we caught a lot of crappie at 30 feet deep on minnows with a KY Lake rig. You have more experience than me at this, but how much do you think the water is going to have to warm before they move up and get active again?
Oh there's catchable fish somewhere right now. Just gotta find them. Like I said, you let that water get in the low 40's and they'll start moving into the bays.

I don't feel bad now :D. I fished barkley for a couple hours and only got a few bites. Got ahold of something in about 22' of water that I couldn't do anything with, I guess it's still going. Barkley was 40*.

Mostly I played with the new depth finders today, the HDS-8 and structure scan are the stuff. I have a lot to learn for sure. The Elite-5 DSI.........I'm not so sure about. If the winds not howling I'll go after church and play with it some more.

Sorry to hear about your luck Wiskers. I did manage to get the snow and ice off my boat cover.

Hey Wiskers, you didn't get skunked. Your limit that day was zero so you limited out. My limit changes according to how many I catch OR don't catch. lol Ferdi aka Fred

    Unhappy

Well got my but kicked again today! I caught fish just no keepers. I caught Bass, Yella Bellys, a sauger and about 16 little crappie. Probably caught 30 fish is you counted them all.

Fished from 35' to 10'. Most of the fish came dishing about 22' deep in 28' of water. Did catch a few in 14' again. Surprisingly the all came on jigs. Never caught a fish on a minnow.

All you can do is count the trips as a learning experiences. I learned from my trip yesterday & was able to catch more fish. Quantity went up but quality was still poor.

I am not use to fishing these low water temps. Usually we have 40+ degree water this time of year. Doesn't take but a couple of degrees to make a big difference in how active the fish are.

It may take me a few trips nut I'll figure them out eventually.

Bad thing is we have more cold weather coming this week. We'll loose what little we gained this week.
