Those look great. They are sorta-kinda like what I built (minus the fancy clamps for the rod holders :D ). Have you checked to see how much bounce/spring you are going to get from your upright with rods in it? I wound up going with a larger diameter tube (conduit) around mine to stiffen it up because of the bounce.

I have not had that problem yet. I used 5/8 dia aluminum for the rods. Thats what some other guys had on the PRO models.
I am working on a price for all the parts today. And there will be $5.00 charge on each sale going to CDC. I know that don't sound like much but I am trying to keep the cost down and the materials are expensive.

What size of conduit did you use? 1/2?
As far as how much time. I am not a 100% sure yet. Mine were the first ones and I had fixtures to build to hold stuff and programs to adjust.
The biggest expence will be the material. The base is stainless and the rest is aluminum.

I wound up using 1 1/2" conduit (I just had a stick already onhand) around my upright, which is 1/2" cold rolled steel that I threaded on both ends. I have a wing nut that tightens down on my cross bar tight against the conduit that surrounds the upright, if that makes any sense.

They look good. Is the base a ss 3/4" pipe flange? The base is the only thing I'd change, I'd try to come up with something low profile that wouldn't be in the way when I wasn't spider rigging. I have the older Tite Lok rod holders and the bases are in the way, plus they are not very stable.

No the base is a solid pcs of stainless that I turned on my CNC lathe.
I looked into making them sink into the floor but you would have to drill such a big hole I thought it would ripp the carpet.
Then how would u tighten the rod into the base?

I'm with the other guy on the low profile thing. I am clumzy enough in a boat. The Tite Lok's I have, have the track system reciever. That's the main reason I stay with those bulky, hard to stow suckers. If it wasn't for that low profile mounting system I'd change. Tite-Lok Inc.

As far as sinking them in the floor... You could thread the base reciever and use a jam nut on the pole. That track system is pretty hard to beat though. http://www.titelok.com/product_info....1e3d1336de2715

Well I can make a base like that also. More cost to thread and make the jam nut. I am waiting on the screws I ordered to mount mine today.
I was going to mount my base close to the edge so it won't be as much in the way. I guess there is a 100 ways to skin a cat.
I wanted to make mine so they would break down and store in as little of space as possible. And no tools to fall in the lake or have to keep track of. I could make the 2 seat deal two. I don't know about how cheap it would be. I don't see how some of these guys do it.
I am buying american material and paying AMERICAN wages. And that will never change. I will go out of business before I SELL OUT.
