    Default Still biting at Cedar

Daughter and I found some at Cedar yesterday. Fish were 6-10ft down in 13fow. Water temp was 79 at 7:30 am We caught 32 biggest was 12" Had 2 that were a little better than 10. Most were inches. Glad to see them growing a little. I think taking the size limit off has helped.

Nice fish! glad to see someones out there still catching them. I'm itching to go after some myself, but time has been limited here lately.

    Talking Dang it, Tiger ....

My fishing partner & I went Sat morning .... and could not get on a Crappie to save ourselves. All of our normally good spots were totally devoid of anything except Bluegills, Readears, & Longears :p

It was so bad, my partner took a nap ... and I used feather jigs tipped with a waxworm, just to get SOME pullage :D

Seriously though ... good report !! Thanks for that. It would appear that I had guessed their depth range correct ... and guesstimated the water temps pretty close ... so I guess our failure was simply due to not finding the right "spot" :o

I'm glad to see that they are finally beginning to get some size/length to them, as well.

And don't feel bad for my partner & I .... we were just "testing" some things out, and weren't "seriously" fishing. His boat had been in the shop, and we were testing it out to see if the issues it had, had been resolved. (they were)
We used my truck, to test it out for pulling the boat ... checking whether the trailer lights worked with my plug-in system, how it towed, launched, MPG rate, etc. (and it passed with flying colors, as I expected it would)

120mi round trip @ 1/4tank of gas (6.5gal) = 15mpg ... which is about what it gets "in town driving" (w/o boat). That's acceptable to me.

Now .... I don't want to know "where" you caught your fish, but I would like to know "what" you caught them on :D (and I'm gonna guess .... minnows :p )

CP we got them on minnows under a float till we ran out. Caught several including the two biggest on yellow 1/16th oz homemade jigs! We need to get together sometime since we are both in Lexington and compare notes. Would love to meet you.

That figures :p ... I think we threw everything BUT yellow :D
Not that I think it would have made any difference, since I really don't think we were "on them", anyway.

We'll have to meet up and go fish Cedar, one of these days. Maybe we can hookup sometime later on in the year, when it's cooler
