You can catch em' on jigs like John said but I agree I wouldn't leave the minners at the bait shop. You are catching fish on those lights that are just opening thier mouth and shad are basically swimming in, they dont have to work hard to get a meal. I wanna try to net some shad from the lights this year and see if they work better than tuffy minnows, i know they dont stay alive well but I would think a nice lively 3 inch shad would be death dropped down over some big crappie.
