Are you catching mostly white crappie now? I was catching mostly black crappie a month ago on Barren shallow, around 3 feet deep, now catching a lot more white crappie and very few black ones. I believe the black crappie start moving towards the banks a little bit earlier.

I'm catching mostly whites on Barren. Had very few black crappie this year. Back in feb I was catching all whites. I catch alot of blacks on Cordell Hull. I dont know if its true or not but I have read that the black crappie feed more early morn and late eve where whites feed more during the day.
