Cool What's Up, Or Should I Say Down With TVA

I have been runn'n the Tn river for years & can't believe that they're pull'n this pool down below 354 but they have a couple of times. I've seen parts of this lake I ain't never seen. I've contacted some of the TVA guys but can't get a straight answer.

If they'd ease this water up to about 355ish and hold it for a few days we could catch some fish.

I have a sneaky suspicion that they are manipulating the water now to kill the grass.

The pleasure boaters started raising 19 kinds of **** about 3 years ago and you saw what happened last year. Their eradication methods from the late 80's / early 90's (that they still deny) won't fly anymore.

Yep that's kinda what I was figure'n too. The grass is good for the lake. They need to leave it alone. Let the PB's got to the river! :D

This grass only occur on the upper (southern) end of the lake? I don't guess I have ever seen it while tooling around over there.

No. 3 years ago it had spread from one end to the other again but has really declined the last two years. The east side usually has a lot more than the west.

I think you guys are giving TVA too much credit. I don't think they're smart enough to try and control the grass. In reality, if they would leave the water down longer, maybe the buck brush would come back and we could have it like it was in the 70's. Man, those where the days for catchin' crappie on the banks in the brush. But if they did that and found out it helped the fishing, they would change it again. They just go by the chart and the chart says that they are to keep the water at 354 until April 1st and thats exactly what they will do. They will drop the water a foot on March 31st if they have to to keep it at 354. Remeber, you are dealing with the government.
The only way to have a good fishing spot is to make it yourself!
