You are right it is a great Musky lake, I fish it every year. But was just wondering if it is iced and if the ramps are open . I don't want to drive 150 miles over there and find ice .lol

    Wink Deadwood ...

Check thru this site : Kentucky Angling Forum - Message Board Yuku

It is geared towards Bass & Muskie, more than anything else .... but, the owner/admin lives on Cave Run (river end) and usually has updated info on conditions.

Corp info line is - 606 783 7001 (for daily lake level reports)

Here's a chart showing daily lake levels : Louisville District Daily Lake Report .... and if you click on the "Todays Pool Feet" number for Cave Run, it will give you a chart showing the past year's water level fluctuations.

I would think that, with day temps getting into the 40's & 50's .... iced ramps will not be a problem. But, being a highland lake ... the water temps are going to stay colder, on average, than the central & western located lakes.

When I used to fish it for Crappie, they were usually spawning in late April into early May (depending on prevailing weather).

Deadwood,I was down there Monday, you could see some ice over back in the shallow coves. I put in at Bangor, the ramp had no ice and didn't see none on the water. No crappie caught, mostly trying out my new Terrova with the I-pilot. Only seen another boat and they put in about the same time, didn't get too talked with them, they was gone when I got back.
