Columbia & Campbellsville are the biggest towns in the area. Either would put you pretty close to the lake/marina .... so, you'd have to choose based on what type of lodging is available in either vs what you're looking for in the way of lodging.

I would think that the Marina would have minnows, and I know that there are baitshops & gas station/baitshops on roads leading to the lake.

I'm not all that familiar with that end of the lake, and haven't been to Green River Lake in a few years ... so I'll let some of the more informed chime in, with more up to date info.

Hey guys for the ones going down earlier. Slabber and myself being down on Friday. We be staying at the Towne motel,they have electrical hookups for your boats,they say they have plenty of parking for boats. They are located in Campbellville,we got our room for $45 a night. They have microwave,refrigerator and think they have wireless for computers. If anyone interested,you can check out their web pace. Tell them you're fishing and they will give discount.
Guys I am really excited about the bash,meeting up with everyone will be good. Hope too see everyone there.

There is a Holmes Bend General Store less then 2 miles from the ramp. They will have all your gas, oil, bait and tackle needs met. They also open early and stay open until around 10

Too bad I'm leaving out of there April 9th..... I'll miss you guys! We are going down Tuesday, and fishing with David Jones on Wednesday! I hope we fill up the cooler and learn something.....

the towne hotel sounds good----------hope the weather holds.,, i fished locally in indianapolis-----25 mph winds, caught 2, bait shop out of minnows, ran my new boat to get bugs out, --------what color artificial, tubes, twister tails ? or just minnows------------ thanks

But, you know Crappie ... they "can" get kinda persnickity about color :D

When I was fishing Green River Lake "regularly" (ie - every Spring) ... I was generally throwing a 1.5" hollow tube on a 1/16oz jighead, or a 1/16oz marabou Roadrunner. Roadrunner was all chartreuse. Tube was a BPS Sparkle Squirt in Elec Blue/chartreuse. That's basically a dark blue head with silver sparkle, and chartreuse tails.

Minnows are always a good option/choice ;) (and, yes ... I have used them at GRL, and caught Crappie on them :p )

Just so you know :D .... there are some toothy critters swimmin 'round in GRL :eek: ....... yep, there's two species of Muskie (Silver & Tiger), and there's Walleyes.

Green River Lake's size limit -
Muskies now have a 36" size limit on them .... Crappie have a 9" size limit ... and Walleye have a 15" size limit.

thanks for the info----the towne motel looks like a good fit-----

i use to fish walleye at port clinton, planer boards----that is some great tasting fish fried with cap. andes corn meal // corn oil--------id love to get into those also
