    Default Hybrids????

Anyone getting into any hybrids during the daylight hours? Hoping to go to Barren this weekend but plans are falling apart as I type. Might look to run to Rough or T-Ville.

    Jigboy,

The hybrids on the Ohio R. were on fire sunday. All morning long we caught em' one after another on the main river where some fresh clear water was running into the river. Right on the banks busting big shad. They were hanging under a school of shad in about 2 ft of water. Was nonstop action on shallow cranks, chartreuse was by far best color. We caught 18-20 nice 4-5 lber's and tons of smaller ones in about 30-45 minutes. Then had the stunt of the century pulled on me an abt. sent me exploding to the moon!! As were were casting to the bank at a shad school about the size of a car hood, two fellows running down the river (OH lisc) saw me catch a white. They make a u-turn right for where we were fishing. Proceed to watch me catch another lil' one and then idle rite in front of us between us and the bank, throw it in neutral OVER-TOP the shad, rev up the motor, in the small school, then the older fellow looks at me and says "what, I fish this spot all the time, u dont own this f---in' river," the younger guy just kept his head down(im sure embarrassed by his partners actions)me and my buddy had some choice words about his actions to him and he still drops anchor in 3 ft of water over the bait and fish(which scattered when he skinned their backs with his prop) between us and the bank and cast rite to where we were catchin em'!!! Never let us get in another cast( never saw him catch anythin'). Im super courteous and this sent me into a ragefest and dang near ruined my whole day. I dont own the water and dont act like I do, anyone can fish where I'm fishin' at anytime, I just can't beleive someone will stoop that low over catchin' a dang fish!!!
PS-here are some pics of a couple we kept to eat.

Sorry bout the rant. Was good fishin' tho while it lasted!

Looks like a great catch. I think everyone has had that happen to him where someone boat blocks you. Since I long-line troll I have it happen to me a lot. When I get on a certain brushpile or area where I am catching a lot I will just troll over it and go past a way's and turn around. I have had plenty of people watch me doing this and then pull right over where I was catching them. Unusally I can't keep my mouth shut either and probably say to much but I don't own the water. They however, are ruid and rediculous.

Yeah, it was a classless act. We were sitting still using the TM in the current about 15-20 feet from bank and he pull in between us and the bank, boat running, on the fish and bait, then proceeds to cuss us before we say anything(like we shouldn't have been there fishin' to begin with) which is the point when my friend and I went off, then anchors up and chucks out a baseball size bobbers and worms all around his boat where we couldnt fish any water even remotely close!! We had been fishin for hours that morning and been fishing that spot for 45 mins until he rolls up and watches us(!! I was shakin' so bad it took me 3 mins to get a crankbait out of a white's mouth. I've seen a lot and been cut-off etc. Its gonna happen sooner or later, but this was so BLATANTLY disprespectful and rude it was rediculous. Im still aggrevated about it. He HAD to know better?? He was a helluva an example to his son or grandson fishing with him as well...hope they don't take after him!!! About 6 years ago thay guy would have been awarded a face-first introduction into the river silt after some crap like that lol!!! Now Ill let karma and the big guy above take care of this stuff. I even envite ppl to join in when Im' catchin' fish and help them out however I can, look what I get in return?

Slabber those are some good looking fish!! As far as the rude fella goes, I believe a boat paddle upside his head would have been justified.

I usually have good luck in June for the crappie. But the river is still too muddy right now. That ole dirty water from the river is messing up the creek fishing here on Smithland Pool . Hopefully it will stop raining soon. Once the water drops out, the fishing should get good for the rockfish and hybrids down here at Smithland.

I am going to head out to T-Ville next week on to try some hybrids. just talked to one of my best fishing buddies who lives in Colorado and he is flying in for the for a few days and we are going to hit the water for a few hours. Then we are finalizing our plans for a salmon run up on Lake Michigan in August.
