I didn't think I would like fishing the crowded docks but starting to warm up to it. I have fish in the freezer so 10 or so nice fish is plenty for me. Not the oldest dog out there so I am still able to pick up on a trick or two. There are NO secrets when your fishing elbow to elbow. Been down there three weekend days now and yes the fishing can be hot at times, but if you just sit back and watch the others fishing the entertainment value is well worth the trip down and the $6.00.

This got to be quite a discussion a while back when they changed the limit at Glen Elder from 50 to 20. I think most of us on here would do whatever necessary to make crappie fishing the best. Ultimately the question of changing limits needs to be presented to the biologist of that lake. They would know best as to how a limit change would improve/hurt the population of a certain species. Just my two cents worth.

Bottom line. If you have plenty of fish in the freezer or wherever let um go! Damn, people have such a problem releasing fish on public fisheries and I would like to know why. They paid for the license, gas, etc.?Can you imagine our walleye fisheries if we released trophies!Sorry just do not get it.

Is that how it really works?

Freedom isn't living the way YOU want me too, or following those who call for more laws. That's not freedom. When you make it a law, the bio's can't change the law, you've handcuffed THEM. If you want to keep your fish, GREAT. If you want to take EVERY SINGLE ONE, GREAT!!!!! That's FREEDOM!!!!!!

Correct me if Im wrong folks but, there was definatly a 10 inch length limit at Pomona several years back, not sure about the creel. Been fishing there a long time, and it holds quality fish. I guess the biolists folks decided to drop it back down. I aint seen much harm in it. I aint about to keep 50 fish, If I have 20 thats plenty (more then enough) But, whats nice is not having to worry about if you got yourself a fat 10 inch fish or a fat9 and 15/16 inch fish. If its close toss it in the bucket.

I signed a petition years ago to get a 10in and 20 fish creel on some of ou NE. KS. lakes with the belief it would hsv to improve the overall quality of the crappie fisheries. I can honestly say after the first couple years I don think it made a difference.

I'd actually like to see the creels at 50 an no length limits. I just feel alot of our lakes are bein over populated with short fish. Or actually stunting do to a shortag of food, but crappie are a cyclic species so maybe certain lakes are just going through a cycle. I'm certainly not smart enough to figure it all out! Th biologists know their stuff just let them do their jobs jobsand stay within the laws. Jus my two cents!

If you catch um kill them and grill them your freezer dosent get full. It's the Ones that raid or steel the nets the KDWP put to do creel checks that puts a hurt on the fishery fast. It happened on Perry Sauger nets 2 or 3 years ago, when there nets were stolen at a time the Eyes were full of male and ready to milk female eyes. They also caught or found gill nets set on the mid lake area were fish were being harvested . I guess what I'm trying to say, There is a wide number that dont keep fish, some that keep fish and those that just don't give a bleep for our resources. Its not just a Kansas problem . Its a society thing . You have to deal with the good the bad and sometimes the ugly in humans. Hopfully mother nature and the Bioligest will keep things in ballance.
