Thanks for the suggestions Droptine, I have some waxworms and butterworms(?..got em at Academy Sports) but they haven't seemed to make much difference, but I know there's times when they do and maybe maggots would work better................ Hey Rick I ran into Art at Pomona and he told me the bite at Clinton had stopped and I left before he did so I don't know how he did and I know he doesn't need help catching fish but I did show him my trout jig that has been one of my best baits so far on the docks..........Crappie Tat I agree that 50 fish is alot to keep especially 2 or 3 times a week but apparently the biologists feel no length limit and a 50 creel is appropriate for certain lakes and Pomona is one of them and it seems to produce good crappie year in and year out...........Springhill come on down and I'll show you where the bite was....yesterday

OK Doug.. Art said you had some nice fish.. Said he got enough fish for a supper or 2.
I'm going to try and go out this weekend but will most likely not go to Pamona as it's gona be crowded
    on the dock's
I have used some small plastic ( I think they are called"Trout magnets") before.
I have had fairely good luck with them. I usrually use 2 as they are so light..1/32 oz

I was at Pamona dock Thurs, morning. Bite was hot until about 1100 then turned off. Caught a lot of fish nothing huge between Chief and I caugth 25, lots of white bass. If you like to catch whities then a bigger spoon would be the ticket I think. I use a spring bobber to indicate bite helps a lot. Must use light line as I am fishing a 80th oz spoon. Not going on weekend as will be to crowed hopefully after warm weather this weekend can get a boat on somewhere.

was there yesterday kept 20 pretty slow compared to other days people have been taking huge limits of big slabs for months there. If I get 20 im done but some people are at different levels they are there to fill there freezers. And others like myself have been doing it so long have ethics and no how to treat a fishery and take only what we need to preserve a fishery but face it greed is always going to be apart of our great sport. And them type like to fish but they are not fisherman sad!!!!

Default Boat on the Water at Pamona

Chief and I hit Pamona this morning we ran all over the lake trying to find fish. Fished the river and creek channels, brush piles drop offs anything and everything Did not get a bite one. Did no even see any fish on the scope no shad no crappie no fish at all. It was a nice boat ride anyway. Guess with the cold comeback will be fishing the dock again. I really do not like the crowd there.

I don't understand keeping more than 10 to 20 crappie either.Furthermore, alot of those fish get freezer burnt or never eatin. However, I do not have a problem with fishers staying within the limits set forth by KDWP but coming back the same day you you caught your limit is B.S. Keep a few limits a year and CPR the rest. I bet we would be surprised on how the qualty of crappie would improve.

Is anybody willing to sign a petition? I think we need to voice our opinion on this matter. Has anyone ever tried this? Will it be a waste our time?
