The safe ice is gone so back to dock fishing and two days in a row the fishing was good, of course tons of dinks but kept 24 both days...hair jigs, swedish pimples and spoons,4# test mono and a spring bobber helps the catchin....the docks can be frustratingly boring but it beats sittin home ( are you listening Lee!!)always lookin down...the "dock stare"

They need to lower the limit on Pomona. There will not be any big fish for the spawn in the next couple years. I've heard of thousands of crappie caught on the docks this winter. Nobody in the right mind needs to keep 50 crappie per day and go back several times a week.
Cost anything Doug to fish docks at Pomona?

WTO Doug,
I have heard they are doing Fair at the Pamona Docks and they are getting a little crowded.
The bite this time of year is super light.. Short ultra light action rods work the best.
Lots of the time you only see the tip of the rod barly move (you will not feel it) .
Sometimes a "strike indicator / String Bobber" is the way to go to help "see the bite".
Hopefuly I can get out this weekend.
GOOD LUCK
Rick
Take a kid fishing--even a old kid
D Dock 5th slip from the bank on the North side. Third icehole to the North from the Southeast corner. Small chrome kastmaster with a pink nibble one barb of the treble hook and a chartreuse sparkle nib one of the other barbs. 4lb. test clear mono use a modified whizzer knot. Fish down 9.42 feet measure from the top of the water not the top of the icehole.
Now I didn't get this info first hand but a buddies friends crackhead brother said his stepmoms babydaddy caught them there back in 2009.
A better idea might be to just fish where everyone else is.

You might try using spikes( maggots) on a small tungsten ice jig, you can buy the spikes online from Knutsons or Crittergrub.
