Water temp at the outlet ranged from 58-60. We were mainly after bass, caught lots of largemouth, smallies, and whites. We'd gotten to the lake before anyone else and we had to wait 45 minutes to put in so we fished from the bank and I managed to catch a bass and 3 crappie while we waited. All the crappies were typical Coffey Co crappie, large. One of them was even aggressive enough to eat a 5/16oz spinnerbait I was casting for bass, and it ate it well.

Couldn't keep any of those 3 since the boat wasn't in the water and I had no stringer or bucket. No crappie anywhere while bass fishing but we hit the same area by the ramp before we left and I boated 6 more crappie, 5 keepers, and lost 3 more solid keepers at the boat. All but the one on the spinnerbait ate a 3" power minnow, chartreuse/white on a 3/16 oz worm nose jighead in 6' of water with a straight, slow retrieve or deadsticked. The 5 keepers I got at the end of the day were all 13-14 inches.

Did you fish from the bank because you got there 45 min before the lake employees?
