When you measure your fish, the mouth needs to be closed..

Im not sure the tail needs to be pinched, the couple times I've been checked,, they just swiped the tail back and forth. I've been told that as long as the mouth is closed and the tail touches the line, it's legal.

We can ask the Bio to chime in if you really want to know how to measure a fish. It doesn't hurt to get a reminder every now and then....

I'm not sure either, I was just being a smart*ss, which sometimes I'm good at, and sometimes I'm not!

To determine fish length, measure from the tip of its snout, with its mouth closed, to end of the tail, lobes pressed together. Kansas Fishing Regulations Summary 2013
